Baillie: Ratepayers deserve truth about Muskrat Falls

HALIFAX, NS – Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie says the Dexter NDP botched the opportunity to tell Nova Scotians how much Muskrat Falls will cost.

“It’s the responsibility of the NDP government to protect ratepayers, to treat Nova Scotians like adults, and tell them honestly how much this mega-project will cost them. Dexter has not,” said Baillie.

HALIFAX, NS - Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie says Premier Darrell Dexter and his NDP are the ones to blame driving power rates up.

"The NDP have no one to blame but themselves for skyrocketing power rates," said Baillie. "The NDP's secret study, released today, was not the independent analysis of Muskrat Falls mega-project that families and ratepayers deserve."

Says Muskrat Falls application should wait

HALIFAX, NS - Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie welcomes a study into the future of natural gas in Nova Scotia, but says once again the NDP have the province’s energy plan backwards.

“Nova Scotians need more affordable energy but once again the NDP have put the cart before the horse,” said Baillie. “This study should be complete before Emera files the Muskrat Falls application with the...

HALIFAX, NS – Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie says the NDP’s political decision to move Maintenance Enforcement workers to New Waterford, home of Deputy Premier Frank Corbett, from other rural communities is leaving women and children in the lurch.

“The upheaval the NDP have caused for vulnerable women and children for their own political gain is unacceptable, and it is proof of the NDP’s incompetence,” said Baillie. “They made a...

HALIFAX, NS – Progressive Conservative leader Jamie Baillie is calling on the Dexter NDP to require the UARB to reopen the contract for electricity from the newly purchased Brooklyn Power plant.

“Revisiting the price of electricity from Brooklyn Power should have been a requirement of the plant’s sale,” said Baillie. “Once again, Premier Dexter is failing to protect ratepayers from paying higher than necessary costs for electricity.”...
